soaring above all of you...

study-cum-dota match (fead?) n' debut rush...

so college is fine so far, made lots of friends already. the subjects are okay with me, school days seem to be the usual routine as in high school. enter room, sit, listen, go out. well it seems that way anyways. however, our teachers do make our course seem daunting, they'd always remind us that our course is one of the hardest if not the hardest course in dlsu. so as for now, im just hoping to attain a gpa of 2.5 for the first term, then i'd try to move on up to maybe like a 3.0 to 3.5 hopefully by year end.

on to studying. so my mom just got my books, the algebra and trigo book, solid mensuration book and lastly a brand new 9th edition 'chemistry' by raymond chang, it had to be new coz' all other colleges use the 8th edition and i think the lady said that only dlsu and mapua use the 9th ed. woot! cool.. hehe it makes me feel proud of lasallian standards. ;) so we had the first session of nstp, national service training program, as required by presidential decree 9153 i think if i remember correctly. and i chose cwts, a community welfare oriented program, to help uplift the conditions of the marginalized communities within metro manila and nearby areas.

enuf said about the academics for the day, well, my blockmates have organized a 3 on 3 dota (defence of the ancients) match, and they invited me to join, which i so exuberantly did. lols. and we went across the street to the second floor of the building where shakey's and red ribbon establishments are, and there we played. haha, i was able to coz i had to burn off like 2.5 hrs of time, for we were dismissed at before 1200 but i only needed to go to lorenzo towers by like 1430. we had two games, first game we lost whereas cha reigned though he said he didn't know how to play.. hmm.. fishy.. haha. then we won on the second game with great comeback scores. afterwards, we separated with the group, and i had a 5-minute lunch, munching through the cheesburger, and swallowing all the fries, and voila.

by 1440, i was at maynilad study center, but it was only by 1500 did i meet hans, who handed me over to andrew, my mentor. wowee, graduated from MBB like shit, he's good! haha. so, anyways, this all happened so fast, and i got home by like 1630. took a shower, got out of the house by like 1810, had my haircut, finished at 1840, and i was rushing like hell. i really was quite anxious coz i was one of the roses of my twin and i was afraid to not make it on time. luckily i did. and i had a blast, met lots of peepz, her cousins, uhmm, now got to see the whole family, hmm met some of her highschool friends, and yeah met leander, samantha, and matthew like woah what a small world. haha. well this does it, and brain and kim stayed overnight. kim didn't get on the computer, and it was me and brain that played 'til 330 next day. and weird, coz twin slept late too, or should i say early, like 345. :)

New Layout, IE Incompatible Though

finally got the friggin layout done, but my main problem is that it does not display right on IE. however, its perfectly well on Mozilla, well i guess thats just something that i wont be able to solve within the near future.

well aside from a new layout being made, school started yesterday, and we had only 1 hour's worth, so it was like my fare on the LRT was a total waste, anyways, i wouldnt care anyhow. lols. so school seems fine, nothing too much to worry about except maintaining a 2.5 minimum on all subjects, otherwise, im dead. xx

today,i just had chemone at 800am, englcom at 940am, soctec1 at forgot what time coz' it sure was bOOOOORIINGGGG. i actually rested my eyes for like 10 minutes...equating to a nap. woot! :) during the lunch break, we decided to get our PE uniforms before having lunch. then at 1450 we had our last subject trigsol.

so most of our classes actually require us to be moving from floor to floor from building to building, and i like taking the stairs, no idea why... *wink*

Last Day of Vacation... its Back to Reality

i just took a look at the calendar and realized that omg its fcukin 22nd of May, lols. just a day before my first day of school, first day in college, first day of a new friggin chapter of life. now i know what i just said sounds so damn mainstream, talkin' 'bout all chapters of life and the sort, but i just couldn't help it. lols ;) so ill just be blogging down my activities for the past few days..

May 13
anyways, i just celebrated my birthday last week and it was fun...funny... so we went out at day time and had our lunch at a Japanese restaurant by the bay, Tajima, its located at Harbor Square opposite the side of CCP. not directly opposite. well anyways, the food was great and authentic, they cooked it in front of you, and it wasn't a conventional cooking-before-your-eyes type of restaurant because it wasn't on the usual hotpan, or the usual ones used in shabu-shabu, they did the cooking on a belevelled part of the table where there are volcanic rocks placed on a mesh to prevent it from falling to the burner. and then they place this mesh-like strainer but for barbecuing, it wasn't all barbecues though, they had a variety of dishes. and since my birthday so happened to coincide with mother's day, they gave my grandma and mom carnation courtesy of the management, and even gave us complimentary desserts. overall it wasn't bad, i liked it. for only 3.5k for 5 persons, it proved good.

in the evening, we went out with my aunts and family friends to eat, again in celebration of my birthday. and we went to malate for a restaurant that my aunt heard sizzles up good filipino dishes. so we decided to try it out, the name was Bistro Remedios, and food was good, we ordered sinigang na miso, tadyang (i think), bangus belly something, kare-kare, bicol express, and somekind of lamb. dessert was maja/maha i'm not really familiar with the names. and it was great, the dessert kinda melts in your mouth, i bet it has lots of sugar. and if i remember right it isn't expensive either. ;)

May 15
so today's my grandparents' anniversary, 47th to be exact, and again we're eating out. and when we go out to eat, we always end up having minor disputes as to where to eat, and being the driver and all its quite confusing. so it's like lets get the hell on with it. and we first thought of tomas morato, but as we approached roces ave., we pushed through to commonwealth ave, in hopes of finding a good resto in katipunan ave., but as we've tried most of the restos in the area, we drove to libis, only to be disappointed with the wide variety of restaurants in the area.*note my sarcasm* so, we ended up in good ol' eastwood. and as we were searching for the restaurant the we haven't eaten in, we noticed a new pirate themed resto, named Il Pirata, an italian resto. the pizza we got was great, my steak was excellent, and i could see on the faces of mom, grandpa, grandma, and christian that their food were great too. though they only are in their soft opening stage, you would take note that most of the foods are already available and the ambience depicts the lower decks of a typical pirate ship. the ceiling is obviously made of carved wood, especially made through orders only. anyways it was great, and the bill was only like 3.8 grand. woot! good!

May 22
and back to the present. lol. just woke up 2.5 hrs ago. and my mom asked me to like countercheck all the invoices for jan-may for any anomalities. and so yeah just took a break to make this entry. and hopefully when im done with my checking, i might just make a new layout... which i doubt i'd finish anyways, the new layout would most likely not be a table layout, but rather the typical vertical down layout. tables eat lots of time... tsk tsk. and its harder to change the layout appearance when working with tables. ;) *wink*

officially ... LASALLIAN

FIRST DAY
already met new friends. i even met we just had the orientation for incoming COE froshies last may 11 and 12, they were both whole day engagements. it seemed quite awkward at first coz u hardly know anyone, but in a matter of 20 minutes ivegiorgio, my highschool classmate, on the way to the designated area for my block section, EF. anyways, the first person i met was bernadete; she came from grace christian high school. we had a little bit of chit chat, before going up using the elevator where the line was cut into two. when we reached the auditorium, the program commenced and the little back to the past kind of presentation they had was a cutesy one, it just reminded me of something. afterwards, each block was asked to give out a cheer, well our orienter went to the restroom i think, so it was actually quite hilarious coz we were asked to stand, and all we did was stand, lol ;).

after the short program we went to our rooms and actually tried to play some games before moving on to the lecture portion. we played foot structures and bugaloo, and in the end they were both unsuccessful, really funny. we were playing simple games and still couldnt get them right, lol. like we had the instructions told to us, but we just couldnt follow them. thats where our orienter, ninya and daphne, got our batch nickname, LUTANG. then my liongson came and we started discussing about the lasallian virtues, prayer, and about the life of brother john baptiste de la salle and relating the 7 major events in his life with our own. id say he is quite good at discussing, must be a pro.

with half of the lecture portion done, we went down for lunch which became a deeper version of the getting to know each other activities that we had. in the afternoon at around 1:30 we had the lecture again until 3 pm. then we toured most of the campus and visited the sps building, which houses the student council office and office of student organizations and the sort. this was the best part of the campus tour coz the offices we visited were airconditioned, lol.

SECOND DAY
on the second day, we met up at the amphitheatre. i thought that our block was early, and realized that our one was actually one of the latest ones to arrive. (i have always known that our batch is the best, no sarcasm intended) we started the day out in the chapel where we had a 1 hour mass. cha a.k.a. sacrifice and i were chatting, and then poch suddenly told cha that someone is being disturbed... hmm.. wonder who. hahaha. anyways, so we decided to settle down a bit but still talked quite a bit. then the same events that happened the day before followed, with ONE thing different.

one game that we played was actually successful. the first game was
pepe, daphne would be giving out a category and we'd have to give out a title related to the category and change one word of it to pepe, and the title should still make sense, a good example would be, the category is english songs, with linkin park's in the end, change end to pepe, and you have in the pepe. it was fcukin' hilarious. note: fcukin is not a typographical error, :)

then, we had the lecture portion again, this time, it was about the academic and discilinarian concerns. mr. liongson discussed the academic half, while a d.o.p. discipline office paragon and ms. nenita, discussed the disciplinarian half. then we had our lunch before going back up to our rooms. we stayed in the room for like another 15 mins, discussing about the cheer that we'd have later on in the afternoon. afterwards, we went on with the school tour, where we got to tour lightly/externally our building, velasco building, agno street, the research building *forgot the name*, the fr. andrew building, and extensively toured the sports complex, for this is where we'd end the orientation, LPEP 2K7(Lasallian Personal Effectiveness Program). so we went up to the second floor and viewed the olympic sized pool of the ground floor. moved on up to the 7th floor via elevator whereas others walked up the stairs, hahaha thanks ninya. the 7th floor houses multipurpose courts which could be used for basketball, volleyball and badminton. then we walked to the 8th floor, where i think all the student organizations had a booth, and it was noisy as hell (in a fun and good way). and in the gawad kalinga booth i had a picture of me and miss eng, jam taken!!! moving on up, we went to the court where our UAAP basketball team practices, and started on with the program. it was fun, at the same time humiliating, coz they had a short game, first one bring a person with celebrity looks, so ninya pulled me onstage and said i looked like YA CHANG? we did not win that, went back to my seat and she pulled me back for the second part, a person from the block who came from the farthest place, we didnt win that either. omg. talk about humiliating. and the third part was a running & trivia portion, where we were represented by aldo. so the program commenced and daphne danced too in the LSD jazz. then near the end they taught us all the cheers so that we'd be ready for this year's UAAP coz the last year's freshmen couldn't experience it unlike us. lucky us. and when i got home i was tired and fell asleep at like 10pm...

btw. kindly leave comments at the comments portion.

Enrollment Jitters... Done with That

after a rather relaxing yet informative week.. that does not quite add up now does it.. anyways, i nearly forgot about my enrollment into dlsu. the only time i remembered of it was when my classmate asked me about the medical portion, and i thought for a moment that i had lost my enrollment forms. good thing was that i haven't thrown my big folder of junk because i actually placed it in there.

my enrollment was yesterday, but i was quite fidgety about this enrollment process especially the physical examination portion. enrollments are really quite common to me, you line up wait for kingdom come, then submit all necessary docs, proceed to accounting, pay up then line up in the disciplinary section. 2 days before the enrollment, i tried to scout around for info on the enrollment process of dlsu, and what i found out was that you only had to follow exactly what is written on the enrollment papers that they gave you, but there was something quite disturbing that i learned. the physical examination, as told by my friends, required you to strip naked, no undies.nickers. whatsoever. when i heard this, i was like.... whuuuuttt? forr reaal? ... 'lol' was all i could say to myself, but nevertheless, i was thinking about the possibilities of this being true.

so i rushed my papers a day before, got them all filled out, pictures pasted and a form notarized. the next day i got up at like 8 or so, and looked at my supposed schedule.. and realized something like an anomaly in the sched coz ive been scheduled for enrollment between 1:30 to 5:00 PM, but my authority for I.D. picture taking was at 10:30 to 11:00 AM and my physical examination was scheduled at 11:00 to 11:30 AM, so i decided to go to la salle in the morning and reached there at 10. so i looked at the board where my section and I.D. no. is posted and immediately memorized my I.D. no. as advised by Leif. i submitted the forms, went to desk 3 where i had to decide between rotc and cwts... and the lady there was like join rotc its fun, you'd be doing all of these activities like... etc. etc. despite her efforts, i still chose cwts because my friends who went to dlsu mostly took this and i want to have the same experience they did. afterwards, i went to the accounting section and gave them my financial aid/scholarship form and i was done in like a minute or two - real quick.

i got my id photo taken then went onto the physical examination. and it was quite unusual, for everyone i saw waiting in line was all guys. and when i was done.. i got to breathe fine. coz nothing happened, it was just the routine check up that i always have done annually. and on my way out, i met jopel, a 4th year ECE student, miguel, a CLA student having his 5th year soon, and jam, 2nd year IE student and who is also in fact Miss Eng! what a day. then while talking to them, bench saw me with them and we went to mcdonalds to eat. bench btw is the guy who gave our group a tour in the star scholars orientation program.

and i went back to dlsu after eating just to show my chest x-ray to the doctor, i realized that i was lucky in getting my enrollment done in the morning because the observatory where the enrollment is done was packed! so all i need now is to wait for the orientation on the 11th and 12th, and get the yearbook settled cause it has been delayed quite a bit.

wish i get everything done! lol
